Small Seedbed Cloche Frame Kit — Glass Not Included
Small Seedbed Cloche Frame Kit — Glass Not Included
Give seedlings a sheltered start with a traditional Small Seedbed cloche frame kit. This reusable steel frame supports two glass panes to help warm the soil, protect young plants and extend your growing season.
Its compact, low-profile design is ideal for seed trays and low-growing crops in vegetable plots, allotments and kitchen gardens.
Kit contents
- Pre-formed solid mild steel frame
- Galvanised high-tensile spring steel carrying handle
- Assembly instructions
Supplied flat-packed. The mild steel frame is untreated and will naturally develop a rust-coloured patina over time.
Size and growing space
When glazed, each cloche provides approximately 0.25m² (2.7 sq. ft) of covered growing space, with a maximum height of 22cm (8.75 inches).
Glass required — purchased separately. The photographs of assembled cloches are for illustration only.
Glass is not included in the kit. Each cloche requires:
- Two panes of 3mm horticultural glass
- Each pane measuring 610 × 305mm (24 × 12 inches)
Source these panes from a local glass supplier. Any glass shown in the product photographs illustrates the assembled cloche and is not supplied.
Using your cloche
Use it to help warm the soil before sowing, shelter seedlings from late spring frosts and encourage earlier cropping. It can also help extend the season for later crops.
The ridge handle allows you to lift and reposition the assembled cloche for watering, planting, weeding and harvesting.
