Protect your crops and extend your growing season with a traditional High Barn cloche frame kit. Made in the UK, this reusable steel frame supports glass panes to shelter plants from cold weather, wind and rain.

With a maximum height of 48cm, the High Barn offers more growing headroom than the Low Barn design.

Kit contents

  • Pre-formed solid mild steel frame
  • Two galvanised high-tensile steel glazing clips
  • Ridge carrying handle for lifting and repositioning
  • Assembly support post to help with glazing
  • Assembly instructions

Supplied flat-packed. The mild steel is untreated and will naturally develop a rust-coloured patina over time.

Size and growing space

When glazed, each cloche provides approximately 0.37m² (4 sq. ft) of covered growing space, with a maximum height of 48cm (19 inches).

Glass required — purchased separately

Glass is not included in the kit. Each cloche requires four panes of 3mm horticultural glass:

  • Two side panes: 610 × 305mm (24 × 12 inches)
  • Two roof panes: 610 × 305mm (24 × 12 inches)

All four panes are the same size and can be sourced from a local glass supplier. Any glass shown in the product photographs illustrates the assembled cloche and is not supplied.

Using your cloche

Use it to help warm the soil before sowing, shelter young plants and extend harvesting into cooler weather. The ridge handle lets you lift the assembled cloche for watering, weeding and harvesting.
